Then there's the fact that the South Dakota Libertarians are the only folks who've advanced a tax plan for South Dakota. Period.That fact, of itself, should set the Libertarian Party apart from those other folks. For three years, knowing it was going to run into a tax crisis this November (the vote on Dakota 1 will separate school funding from property tax, thus lowering property tax by 2/3, AND leaving SD without a specific source for funding schools), the SD Legislature has passed laws about butterfly knives and agricultural disparagement and trucker's taxes, but has refused to look at the entire "system" of over 100 taxes and fees as the abomination it is.
Take a look at our tax plan for South Dakota. Try to figure out why our legislators--or our governor--refuse to talk about it, even though they've known about it for five years.
